Potraits & Self-Protraits.

I think good lighting makes a good photo. The picture needs to capture the audiences attention. Good background, and interesting subject. What also makes a good picture is clarity, the viewer needs to be a able to tell what your subject was.

If I had the camera in my hands i would like to do self-potraits because i think its easier to capture my emotions and what im feeling then it would be capturing others.

Ethics in Fashion Photography

1. List the changes that were made to the model's face in the computer.
Her eyes were made  eyes bigger and her neck longer.

2. Is it ethically acceptable to change a person's appearance like this in a photo? Why or why not?
No, because 1, thats kind of telling the model she isnt good enough....& 2, it gives little girl the wrong idea of what beuty really is.

3. Are there circumstances in which it would be more ethically wrong to do this type of manipulation?
Yeah when you try to do a before-after and completely lie and change the picture completely.

4. What types of changes are OK, and what aren't?
Like say she has a fly-away hair, its not so bad to change that and make it better.
When you completely change the persons apperance to suit your definition of beauty.

5. Explain what you think the differences are between fashion photography and photojournalism.
Fashion photography is when your trying to start a trend or when your trying to sell something. Photojornalism is like pictures of  real life.

6. What relationship does each type of photography have to reality?
Photojournalism are pictures of reality, and the world... Fashion photography is somebodys opinion of reality.

Photo Ethics Assignment

A. Summarize the main points of the story in 1-4 sentences.
That photo editing is bad at some extent. Some very famous photographers have lost their jobs due to editing. You cant change the pictures just cause you want.

B. Explain why you think this type of photo editing is unethical or acceptable.
Its unethical especially if the pictures are for a serious newspaper because the readers want to read and see what actually happend not just what the photographer wanted them to see.

A. Post the manipulation that you think was the most unethical, and explain why you think it was unethical.

Because they completely lied and said that the student was actually at the football game. they also lied just to attract more people to their college.
B. Post the manipulation that you consider the least unethical, and explain why you think it is not as bad as others.
Is not that bad because all they did was change the way her teeth looked. sure they lied, but they only did it to make her look a lil bit nicer

Abandoned Theme Parks

1. Tell me which amusement park featured in the two articles that you would like to visit and take your camera along and what about that park made you want to go there. Write at least a paragraph.
I would like to visit the theme parks that are on different parts of the world because they have different stuff.
The theme parks in America usually have the same kind of roller coasters and attractions. Plus in the other theme parks that are around the world have more interesting backgrounds/ reasons why they were closed. In America theme parks the story usually is that they became less popular and was forced to closed.2. Post one photo from that park.
3. Think of at least FIVE other unusual places you think would be of interest to photographers. List them.
  • Abandoned Malls
  • Haunted/Old/Abandoned  Hotels
  • Old Skateparks
  • Buildings After Fires
  • Rusted Cars
4. Use google or another search engine to research ONE of your five places and see if anyone has already started documenting that place. If you find that someone has already started - post at least one photo of their work.

5. Write a paragraph about why you think that it would be fun to document that location. Tell me what interests you about that place and what kind of photos you could expect to take there.
I would like to take pictures there because i feel that hotels have a lot of stories behind them, and when they were abandoned then it means that some of the evidence for those stories were left behind. I would expect to take alot of pictures of vintage stuff
6. Tell me what it would take for you to go and take photos at your location. What would you need as far as equipment goes, travel plans, expenses you might encounter and what laws you would have to take into consideration to take photos at your spot.
I would take alot of shorts since those place wont have air-conditioning. i would have to pay for the hotel, airplane tickets, and my food. I would probably have to get permission from either city or the owner cause those places tend to be closed off and are private areas.
